1960 Lambretta Li 150 Series II (L120)
Older restoration of one of Lambretta’s most iconic and poplar models. Art Deco style and beautiful two-tone finish attracts a lot of attention. This scooter has undergone a detailed cosmetic and mechanical restoration several years ago with few miles since. Odometer shows only 662 Km (411 Miles) which may reflect mileage since restoration, but TMU. Overall complete and correct, showing some age and patina, but very presentable. Largely original in all regards, shows well and runs well. Correct badging and trim, new dual saddles, rubber floor mat, legshield basket, front fender guard and FMI certificate. Fitted with a sturdy rear rack with spare tire. Belies its age of over 60 years. Mechanically sound and ready to enjoy, no issues, no problems. A great value in a vintage scooter for easy cruising with a true classic style.
The Li Series II was the best selling scooter ever produced by Lambretta and this one amply displays the reasons why. The art deco style reached its aesthetic peak with shapely cowls, tasteful aluminum trim and neat badges. Changes from the Series I such as moving the headlamp up to the handlebars, were well done and a clear step forward enhancing the great looks. The well proven drivetrain received minor upgrades and delivered dependable performance. Consensus is that the Li 150 Series II is one of the of the best Lambretta models.
Available with either a 125 cc and a 150cc engine, the larger displacement of this unit is the way to go. Acceleration is leisurely, but the Li 150 will reach a top speed of around 55 mph and has plenty of torque to accommodate carrying a passenger. Brakes are drums on both ends with decent stopping power and the well damped suspension provides secure handling and a smooth ride.
A real sharp classic with a cool color scheme and redone mechanicals, ready to enjoy, value priced and likely to be a sound investment.
