1960 Vespa 150 VBA1T (BM448)

Rotary Valve Motor … Large Frame Vespa Style … Total Restoration
A very unique Vespa model in excellent condition having a total restoration a few years ago by a well known Vespa expert in northern Italy. Designed as a clear step forward from the previous “wide frame VB1T model with an upgraded rotary valve motor and more modern style. The VBA1T ”large frame” styling features tighter curves and more streamlined lines that are progressive and uniquely Vespa. A comfortable solo saddle and convenient handlebar controls deliver a special riding experience. The fully redone rotary valve motor offers 145cc of smooth, easy power delivered to a 3 speed gearbox. The redesigned motor uses an oil ratio of 2%, instead of the 5% of previous models. Drum brakes provide adequate stopping power and 8” wheels provide nimble handling. Vintage whitewall tires have been fitted for a classic look.
The 1960 Vespa VBA1T 150cc is a classic mid-century model from Piaggio, part of the iconic “large frame" Vespa family introduced in 1958. It’s known for its clean, streamlined shape and rotary valve motor, representing a key stage in the evolution of Vespa scooters. This Vespa shows dramatically in a metallic silver blue finish in superb condition. Artful details include the shapely headset casting with a unique speedometer and round headlamp. The odometer shows 44,892 miles on the chassis, but it has been driven very little since the total restoration was completed. A spare tire with a Vespa vinyl cover is fitted to the legshield. A new Aquilia saddle and plump pillion seat look great and ride well.
Truly a machine to turn back the time, this Vespa offers a special riding experience and profound joy to view. Restored to virtually new condition and ready to enjoy.
