1970 Vespa 50 Special Series 1 Mustard (BM476) Offered at $6,495

The Vespa 50 Special is one of the most popular small-frame Vespas ever produced. Introduced in 1969, the Series 1 was an instant hit. The Special was a midrange model and featured a very sporty appearance. It was known for its racy look with a contoured solo saddle and square headlight, which distinguished it from earlier round-headlight Vespa 50 models. This example shows the patina and wear of a well used mount with a history of urban adventure. Features a 3-speed manual transmission, 9” wheels and tires and a sporty solo saddle. Overall condition is good for a scooter over 50 years old and the engine is in healthy running condition. Mustard yellow paint finish makes a very strong impression and shows plenty of scuffs and scratches. This is a Vespa that has seen a lot of service, has been a lot of fun, and is ready for more.

This is a 50cc scooter, but don’t let that fool you, it is actually quite peppy. There are a myriad of tuning options for this scooter if you want to go even faster, and the very sharp and competent handling on the 50 Special really lends itself to making a pocket-rocket, if you want to go that route.
