1976 Vespa 50 Special Series 2 Bianca (BM473) Offered at $6,495

The Vespa 50 Special is one of the most popular small-frame Vespas ever produced. Introduced in 1969, the model received updates in the mid-1970s (Series 2) including improved electrics and revised trim. Compared with the simpler Vespa 50 R, the Special had more equipment and a sportier appearance. Styling features a racy look and square headlight, which distinguished it from earlier round-headlight Vespa 50 models. This example has a few options. A speedometer is fitted into the headstock, showing only 18k miles. Features a 4-speed manual transmission, 9” wheels and tires and a comfortable dual saddle. A spare tire is fitted to the legshield and protected by a vinyl cover. A rubber floor mat is a useful addition. Overall condition is good and the engine is in excellent running condition. Original bianco paint finish makes a very smart impression, showing some patina and a few minor scuffs and scratches.  A clean classic ready for fun and urban adventures.

This is a 50cc scooter, but don’t let that fool you, it is actually quite peppy. There are a myriad of tuning options for this scooter if you want to go even faster, and the very sharp and competent handling on the 50 Special really lends itself to making a pocket-rocket, if you want to go that route.
