VESPA FARO BASSO (BM-187)

The un-complicated handlebars, the headlight on the fender, the smooth lines of the bodywork, oh yes, we like it! This is the last year for the faro basso (“low light” in Italian) before Piaggio moved the headlight to the handlebars for all Vespa production. This is the most fully developed of the faro bassos, and has the most harmonious body lines and most fully developed mechanicals of that line. The riding experience on a Faro Basso is nothing short of charming. The low center of gravity, wide body and wide handlebars certainly feel great.   With no headlight to obstruct your view, it does feel a bit like you are flying over the tarmac.

When riding, you feel connected to another time. These were built in a different era when life moved at a slower pace. Solid and well-built machines, these early Vespas are rugged, but look sophisticated. This particular scooter has been restored in Italy back to original condition. It is in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically.
