We took this scooter to our facility in Italy and completed the restoration there. The parts for such an old scooter are quite difficult to find in the U.S. but can be sourced through contacts in the old country, which is why it made more sense to complete the restoration in Italy. It was a long process: the scooter was completely taken apart and restored, replaced, or refurbished every part.

Details, such as the fact that Piaggio used a light brown primer paint, were not overlooked. The paint on this scooter is very high quality, and it really looks great in the sunlight. We did not “over paint” the scooter, however. The original paint was single-stage without an overly shiny clear coat, and we replicated the original finishes throughout. This kind of proper restoration, along with its rarity and age, puts it in the top echelon of collectible scooters.
